This versatile accessory is perfect for both casual and formal occasions, in which the removable/adjustable straps easily transform the accessory from a day bag to an evening pouch. The eye gravitates toward the zipper’s spunky tassels, and the feminine rose gold color is cohesive with bright color and neutrals.
Playing with patterns and proportions, I decided summery florals and stripes and more conservative pieces. To balance the loose skirt, I tied a button-up shirt for some shape. I like how my skirt sits just at the knee; as someone with a petite figure, skirts that sit too far below the knees chops the legs instead of creating a straight line for the body. My large computer bag adds structure and pulls together the dainty outfit without distracting the eye from the prints and overwhelming my 4’11” frame.
An easy way to add color into your outfit without going overboard is by wearing statement accessories. I paired my black tube top from Urban Outfitters and loose summer pants from Charlotte Russe with blue-green chunky bracelets, a printed scarf, and a tangerine wrap. Even in the summer, I stick to layering my clothes. Mornings are still crisp and cool, and a wrap is perfect for earlier hours until I need to take it off in the afternoon.
This presented a great opportunity to conduct a market study to observe trends for winter 2018-2019. At the time, the majority of Free People’s merchandise had jewel-toned color palettes and dainty embellishments like laces and metal appliques.
I used to feel intimidated by this color and would go for more neutrals – blacks, tans, greys – and pinks. However, I started loving red’s boldness and sex appeal.
I loved how the dress and the slit looked on the model and decided to give Fashion Nova a chance.

My first NYFW show! I felt like a little kid at Christmas – excited, giddy, and nearly bouncing off of the walls. Before the show started, I helped REP Agency set up and check guests in.
I travel to New York City quite often, but this was my first day in Soho alone. I had to ask multiple people where I was and for directions Nevertheless, I enjoyed my independent journey in the city.
I can’t put into the words how I ecstatic I was when REP PR called me back to come to their office.
