Sisters and new members ’19 went to the Concourse Dance Bar in Philly for Kappa Alpha Theta’s Black and Gold semi-formal. As implied through the name of the event, dress code called for black or gold attire. Most of us (myself included) wore black, but some of the seniors wore gold dresses or jumpsuits.
I purchased this short dress from Fashion Nova. Even though my peers’ swear by Fashion Nova, I was skeptical to support this fast fashion company. Fashion Nova has over 15 million followers of Instagram, but I always hesitate when I see deals that are too good to be true. I loved how the dress and the slit looked on the model and decided to give Fashion Nova a chance.
Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised. I do not expect the dress to last for years but did not have any problems with the fit during the night. I wouldn’t shop at Fashion Nova for investment pieces, but I prefer Fashion Nova over Forever 21 and H&M due to the smaller sizing,
The dress even survived the ball pit! I felt slightly self-conscious of the slit at first, but the length of the dress was perfect for my short frame.
