Heart and S(e)oul
Hello, my stylish friends! Are any runners out there braving the cold? Unpopular opinion: winter running tops summer training! I prefer to layer-up instead of sweat the second I start moving. Currently, I crave the energy from my pace quickening whilst breathing in the crisp, dry air.
Running has always served as an escape route for me to find comfort in a burning sensation throughout my legs and lungs—this unique, addicting euphoria. I’ve never been someone to go over a laundry list of ideas throughout a run; rather, I zone out and block out any stresses as I pound the pavement and find my rhythm. Few activities empower me as much as running and how it reminds me to leave it all out there, whether during a solid track session, quality tempo workout, or draining long run.
Building up consistent mileage, I’ve spent sufficient time both on the trails near campus and on the roads at home. My go-to spots include White Clay Creek Trail in Newark, Delaware, and Weaver Stadium at Princeton University. Pictured down below is an evening snapshot at the latter after wrapping up some strides. Though I haven’t logged in too many speed sessions this fall, I enjoy refreshing my legs with some quick spurts. Keeps me alert!
With style,
Sar
