Heart and S(e)oul
Hello, my stylish friends! Optimistic and upbeat, I match my mood with wearing fun accessory pairings, many of which come in bright colors and vary in material. Above, I wear a coral bib layered on top of a mid-length, rose-gold necklace with a chunky pendant (not pictured). In retrospect, the top half of my body looked too busy for a professional video conference call, but the quirky prints and colors started my day on a good note!
I like(?) to think that my current style looks polished and put-together but cringe when reflecting on the nonsensical and tacky outfits that I wore growing up. A classic, pre-teenager Sarah look consisted of a graphic tee (think back to used tees that scream Aeropostale and/or Hollister—ladies and gentlemen, welcome to 2010-2012: some of the most awkward years for Gen Zers). But, wait—there’s more! Of course, no outfit would be complete without a statement scarf and a statement cuff bracelet and a printed purse. A bit over-the-top? Fast forward to 2021 and it looks like my soft spots for colors and prints have yet to go away; though I ditched the tacky brand tees, I can see my future self laughing at, once again, the status quo of my fashion sense.
Pictured below show old photos that I dug up from my WordPress archive. Ask me to pinpoint my creative inspiration, and I’ll respond with a plethora of concepts. Art, music, literature, architecture, film—where on earth to begin?
Where do you pull inspiration from?
With style,
