Petite Pointers: Back to the Basics

November 13, 2020

Hello, my stylish friends! Another fashion post for you—standing at 4’11”, I often struggle to find flattering pieces, such that large prints and fashion-forward silhouettes tend to overwhelm my petite frame. My solution? I stick to the basics. Season-less, classic, and ready-to-wear pieces: my favorite being the little black dress (LBD).

Pictured down below is the Keynote Dress from Suitably: a womenswear DTC brand offering classic and machine-washable workwear at affordable prices with each piece under $100. Even better, I was pleasantly surprised by how well this dress fit! Neither too long nor too short, the dress sits perfectly just above the knees—like finding a needle in a haystack as a petite shopper! I love how I can dress the Keynote Dress up or down, whether for casual outings (COVID-friendly) or professional settings (even if remote).

Down below is the former, in which I mixed neutral colors and boho accessories for two relaxed summer outfits. Although not pictured, a blazer pairs perfectly for remote video conferences. Earlier in the semester, I frequently attended online interviews for internships and networking calls and, each time, wore my Keynote Dress paired with a blazer and dainty necklace.

What are your go-to pieces?

With style,

Sarah
