Heart and S(e)oul
No joke, I’ve stuck to the same makeup routine for over two years. I even apply my products in the same order – face, brows, and eyes last! In all seriousness, for years I’ve struggled to find a makeup routine that works for my Asian features. It was not until I started watching Asian beauty gurus on Youtube that I was able to take different techniques and tweak them to work with my face.
Some days I go lighter on the eyes, but 99.9% of the time I sport strong brows. Unfortunately, I wasn’t blessed with naturally thick brows and end up spending about five minutes every day filling the sparse areas in. Strong brows help offset my round face.
In all honesty, I cake on a ton of bronzer around my chin and cheeks. I’m self-conscious of my flatter features and tend to get carried away with contouring. Unfortunately my face is oily, so when I use highlighter, I can only apply small dabs or risk looking shiny.
Since most of my face is makeup-heavy, I like natural lips. Tinted lip balms get the job done and hydrate my lips at the same time.
Rarely do I leave the house without applying a thick cat wing. I like the definition it adds to my eyes and how it pulls together my smokey eye. Instead of smaller strokes, I save time by outlining the general shape and then filling it in.
With style,
Sarah
