Heart and S(e)oul
I struggle finding shades of red lipstick that work well with my skin color. Oftentimes, the reds I want to use are too cool for my olive skin. Consequently, my face looks washed out or the lip color looks tacky. Berrys compliment my skin pigment better than reds and pinks and are perfect for the winter. I wore a spicy lip whenever I wanted to add more glam to my look.
Nearly everyday last winter, I applied this berry shade from the Sephora Collection. I prefer Sephora Collection products over drugstore. I find that the price ranges of both Sephora and drugstore products run betwenen $15-$30; for the same price, I can use better quality makeup from Sephora.
This shade in particular is my longest-lasting lip color. When I need to re-apply, I simply do a quick swipe then blot with a tissue. To keep my lips hydrated, I apply a waxy coating of lip balm underneath the shade.
With style,
Sarah
