Heart and S(e)oul
Hello, my stylish friends! Over the years, I’ve experimented with different makeup shades, colors: you name it. I learned the hard way that cooler colors look way too harsh on me (blue eye shadow: major cringe).
Years of experimenting guided me to finding makeup sweet spots that I go to all year long to bring out my natural color, while adding more warmth.
This helps my monolid eyes pop as well: one of my close friends remembers me having this since we first met freshman year – most definitely a staple! A brighter sparkle can complement nicely with tan skin. I love Etude House’s tear drop liner.
I don’t even want to think about how, in high school, I would smear bright white eye shadow on my lids: way too bright for my skin. Instead, a rose gold brings out tan skin, without clashing. Smashbox’s Cover Shot Eyeshadow palette is my go-to, no-nonsense palette for everything from work to a night out.
Years ago, I used to love bright and bold lip colors. While I now prefer something more natural, I still want that slight pop of color that makes me look more awake and refreshed. My favorite is Maybelline’s Super Stay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick.
With style,
Sarah
