Heart and S(e)oul
In college, I would often cake my face with makeup, only to have it smudged before even I set foot into class, the gym (yes, I used to wear makeup at the gym) or the bars. It took until my senior year for it to click with me that I needed to change my makeup and skincare routine, in order for my face to look and feel more refreshed.
Primer and its matte looks help minimize the unwanted shine. Always seeking value-driven options, I continuously go back to Maybelline’s Baby Skin primer.
I try to rotate between two cleansers, especially as the weather fluctuates between dry and bitter to warmer and humid along the east coast. More value-driven options I love include those from CeraVe, as well as Maybelline.
These are an absolute pain to remove, but they make for cleaner-looking photos, sans smudgy eyes.
My face feels bare, if I don’t do a quick wash of light setting powder to mattify my (usually shiny, and not in a good way) face.
Rotating between heavier and lighter makeup days, your face will thank you, as you give it some time to breathe in-between makeup looks!
