Easy Overnight Oats

These recipes are perfect for summer – peak season for many fruits.

Though convenient to simply roll out of bed and skip the first meal of the day, taking the time to eat breakfast should be a priority. Your body needs fuel, and breakfast gives you energy to last long days at work or on campus.

Moreover, most of us lack the time to make breakfast. However, with these simple and easy overnight oat recipes, you make and eat breakfast with ease (and speed!) if in a rush. Oats are not only versatile for cooking, but they are full of complex carbohydrates and proteins.

Overnight Oat Base

The base is put together the night before so that the oats have enough time to settle and expand. You wake up with everything ready-to-go.

  • 1/2 cup of oats
  • 1 cup of milk
  • tbsp chia seeds
  • tbsp honey
  • tsp vanilla extract

I like to insert ingredients in a mason jar in this order with the oats on the bottom. Once your finished, let the jar or mug sit in the fridge overnight.

Fruit and Toppings

Now the fun part starts! You wake up to these fresh oats, but they still need some flavors. My favorite recipes include strawberries or peanut butter on top.

These recipes are perfect for summer – peak season for many fruits.

I either add a spoonful of peanut butter in addition to a 1/4 cup of blueberries and half a banana or strawberries and chocolate chips.

Have fun making these pretty and delicious overnight oats! What are your favorite toppings?

With style,

Sarah
